Antipope Celestine

Antipope 15-16 December 1124, died 1125/6\nTeobaldo Boccapecci/Boccapeconai\nMade a Cardinal deacon by Pashal II.\nSelected in a confused and chaotic election, in which Teobald and another Cardinal, Saxo, were supported by the Pierleori family. During the process of Celestine's investment, Robert Frangipani and a body of troops broke into the church and proclaimed Cardinal Lamberto Scannaberchi (a man of considerable learning) of Ostia as Pope.\nOn Celestine's resignation Scannaberchi became Honorius II.
