History

First appearing in 1992, the Beretta 92FS Centurion model came into being on demand of police users. The Beretta 92G Centurion is a decock only version with no manual safety.

Specifications

The Beretta 92FS Centurion is made out of the
frame of the Beretta 92FS with the slide of the Beretta 92FS Compact L. This reduces its length somewhat while maintaining the full ammunition capacity of the Beretta 92FS.

Intended market

The Beretta 92FS Centurion was a law enforcement pistol, but it was also sold to the civilian market for self-defense.

Design advantages

The Beretta 92FS Centurion maintained all the good handling and safety qualities of the Beretta 92FS while being somewhat shorter. The
barrel bore is hard chromed to protect it against wear and corrosion.

Limitations

Like all
Beretta 92 pistols it suffers from the same limitations in harsh environments. The slides inside Bruniton finish wears away with use and increases slide to frame play.
