Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Genesis)

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is a modified version of a Japanese video game Puyo Puyo, and set within the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. It was released for the in November 1993, by Capcom in the United States for the Sega Genesis, and in Europe for the Sega Megadrive. The original Puyo Puyo was released for the Sega Megadrive only in Japan, which would not get the modified version until Sonic Mega Collection was released in that country. In Japan, the game is known as Dr. Eggman no Mean Bean Machine as the antagonist's name was always Dr. Eggman in Japan. Play follows the usual Puyo Puyo formula of matching like-colored jellies into groups, and creating chain reactions which cause avalanches of junk jellies to fall upon the opponent's screen. The game is notable in being the only Sonic game to feature characters from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. It is somewhat obscure and is not considered canon. The game is hidden within Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut. Category:Sonic the Hedgehog games
