Eyebrow piercing

Eyebrow piercing is a type of body piercing done in the eyebrow. They are usually vertical and the typical orientation of the pierce is at a 35 degree angle from the outside corner of the eye.

It may be pierced anywhere along the eyebrow from directly above the eye,to the edge of the eyebrow. It should never be pierced further in than directly above the eyebrow, because of the three major Supra-Orbital nerves, piercing one of these nerves may cause permanent damage. Another thing to worry about with this piercing is the jewelry may migrate. Migration means the movement of the jewlery out of the skin. The amount of skin taken by the initial piercing will decrease until the jewelry eventually grows out altogether. The best way to prevent that from happening is to get it pierced with a barbell. Eyebrow piercings initially turned up in the 1980's, and have been growing in popularity ever since. They are one of the only purely aesthetic piercings, having no recognized symbolic meaning associated with them. Healing time takes 6-8 weeks and are often very easy to care for, some people may take longer though, the better you care for the piercing, the less time it takes to heal. You have to keep them very clean and keep dirty hands, makeup and hair away. When the eyebrow is infected it often swells or develops a fluid-filled bump or pimple at the hole. To clean it up you should soak it in warm salt water several times a day.
