Foxing

Foxing, in the book trade, is the effect on certain papers of the oxidization of iron or other substances in the pulp or rag used to make book paper. It is responsible for the spots and browning seen on old books and documents.

"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them." - Mark Twain (1835-1910)
