Fredrik Meltzer

Fredrik Meltzer (1779 - 1855) designed the flag of Norway. He represented the city of Bergen in the Norwegian parliament throughout several periods. It was in fact his 12 year old son Gerhard who made the first draft of the flag, from the ideas of his father.
