Today, Gilead has approximately 1,500 employees with operations in the United States and in 10 countries throughout Europe, Australia and Canada.

In the United States, corporate headquarters are based in Foster City, California, with additional operations in San Dimas, California and Durham, North Carolina. European operations are based in Cambridge, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland and Paris, France.

To expand the markets for its products beyond these regions, Gilead has established a network of exclusive distributors in more than 40 countries in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America. This network supports collaborative efforts for obtaining new regulatory approvals and growing market share to fully leverage Gilead's commercial assets.

By building an international operation several years sooner than planned, Gilead has achieved a significant increase in its capabilities, allowing the company to fully realize the value of its therapeutics and robust pipeline. Because of the company's strong multinational infrastructure, Gilead has the ability to provide its portfolio of marketed products for viral, fungal and bacterial infections to many more patients.
