Kneiphof

Kneiphof (Polish Knipawa) is the name of one of the 3 cities that constituted the city of Königsberg in Ducal Prussia. As many other cities it rebelled against Teutonic Order in 1454 and acknowlidge the overlordship of Polish King, but without help from Poland it eventually surrendered and eventually became the part of Ducal Prussia.

The last East Prussian city loyal to the Polish king, Knipawa, was taken after a long siege by Teutons commanded by Heinrich Reuss von Plauen (older) on June 14, 1455.
