Michael Long

Australian Rules footballer. Born 1 October 1969 in St. Marys, Northern Territory. He won the Norm Smith Medal in 1993 for his on-field performance in the AFL Grand Final and was a member of the 1993 and 2000 premiership winning sides for the Essendon Football Club.\nHe only played 190 games. His career was continuously interrupted by injuries, most notably injuries to his knees.\nMichael is an Aboriginal Australian and has spoken out on the issues of racism. He retired as a footballer in 2001.
