Middle England

Middle England indicates the central region of England, also known as the Midlands.

The term has also acquired a political meaning. It principally indicates the middle classes or lower-middle classes of England, but also carries connotations of "Deep England". In this usage, the epicentre of "middle England" can be viewed as London and the Home Counties.
