Moscow Oblast
Moscow oblast (Моско́вская о́бласть) is an administrative subdivision of Russia officially established on January 14, 1929. It is the most populous Russian oblast while its area is a modest 47,000 km² (45,000 km² without Moscow), which makes it one of the most densely populated regions in the nation.
Moscow oblast is highly industrialized with its main industrial branches being metallurgy, oil refining, and mechanical engineering, food, energy and chemical industries.
