Oswald von WolkensteinOswald von Wolkenstein (born probably May 2 1377 on Schöneck Castle in Pustertal / South Tyrol [now Italy]; died August 8 1445 on Hauenstein Castle near Bolzano) was a poet, a composer and a diplomat. In the latter capacity he travelled through all of Europe, even to Georgia. Most of his songs are monodic, although there are also, somewhat primitive, polyphonic works.
