Piano practice

Effective practice of pianistic techniques is a discipline that is not often taught very well even by experienced piano teachers. However, the speed and ease by which piano students are able to learn new material is thoroughly dependent on their approach to practicing. Surprisingly, many practicing techniques taught even today stand in the way of a fast acquisition of technique. One reason for this is that effective practicing techniques are often counterintuitive, and not always taught to piano teachers even at university. Some of the principles underlying effective piano practice are
