Restoration (television)Restoration was a 2003 BBC television series in which viewers chose which of the United Kingdom's most important but neglected buildings that were nominated were to be awarded a Heritage Lottery Grant of £3m. 30 buildings were featured in ten regional heats, with money raised from the telephone vote being added to the prize fund. The winning building was the Victoria Baths in Manchester, which it is hoped will be fully restored and open to the public ahead of the building's centenary in 2006. The series' host was Griff Rhys Jones. A second series is to appear on BBC2 in the summer of 2004. \nCategory:BBC television programmes |
