Ridge-push

The concept of the ridge-pull theory, began in the late 1840s. The concept, first invented and tested by the late MIT Professor Carl Anthony Graeme Emmanuel DeSouza, was mainly mocked and ridiculed by his colleagues. But further testing showed that the theory was in fact correct. The theory is based on the molten magma near the earths core. As it heats, the viscious liquid rises. As it cools near the surface, it becomes thicker, and sinks toward the centre and repeats. But as the motion continues, the tectonic plates are pushed apart.

"There is only one nature - the division into science and engineering is a human imposition, not a natural one. Indeed, the division is a human failure; it reflects our limited capacity to comprehend the whole." - Bill Wulf
