Ring-opening polymerizationIn polymer chemistry, ring-opening polymerization is similar to addition polymerization in that an end of a growing chain acts as a reactive center upon which other monomers can react with to propagate the chain. In ring-opening polymerization, the monomer is a cyclic compound. The chain typically propagates through cationic or anionic propagation.
