River Tweed

The River Tweed (156 kilometers or 97 miles long) flows primarily through the Borders region of Scotland. It rises on Tweedsmuir at Tweeds Well. It drains the entire Borders region. Its lower reaches mark the Scots border with England for 27 kilometers near Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Tweed is one of the great Salmon rivers of Scotland. Major towns through which the Tweed flows include Peebles, Galashiels, Melrose, Kelso, Coldstream and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
