Sandefjord

Sandefjord is a town and municipality in the county of Vestfold, Norway,\nhas 40,079 inhabitants as of January 1, 2002. Area: 122 km2. It is located between the Tønsbergfjord and Goksjø. The town is in the bottom of Sandefjordsfjord. It is well-known for shipping and chemical industry. A museum dedicated to whaling (Hvalfangstmuseet) is situated here. Rock paintings and other remains can be seen in the vicinity. The Gokstad ship was found near the city in 1880, now in the Viking Ship Museum of Bygdøy, Oslo. Sandefjord Airport Torp is located at Torp.\n
