\n: Tú alfagra land mítt
Tú alfagra land mítt,\n: mín dýrasta ogn!\n: á vetri so randhvítt,\n: á sumri við logn,\n: tú tekur meg at tær\n: so tætt í tín favn.\n: Tit oyggjar so mætar,\n: Gud signi tað navn,\n: sum menn tykkum góvu,\n: tá teir tykkum sóu.\n: Ja, Gud signi Føroyar, mítt land!
Hin roðin, sum skínur\n: á sumri í líð,\n: hin ódnin, sum týnir\n: mangt lív vetrartíð,\n: og myrkrið, sum fjalir\n: mær bjartasta mál,\n: og ljósið, sum spælir\n: mær sigur í sál:\n: alt streingir, ið tóna,\n: sum vága og vóna,\n: at eg verji Føroyar, mítt land.
Eg nígi tí niður\n: í bøn til tín, Gud:\n: Hin heilagi friður\n: mær falli í lut!\n: Lat sál mína tváa\n: sær í tíni dýrd!\n: So torir hon vága\n: - av Gudi væl skírd -\n: at bera tað merkið,\n: sum eyðkennir verkið,\n: ið varðveitir Føroyar, mítt land!

English

\n: My land, oh most beauteous
My land, oh most beauteous,\n: possession most dear,\n: Thou drawest me to thee,\n: embracing me near;\n: becalmed in the summer,\n: in winter snow covered,\n: magnificant islands,\n: by God named beloved.\n: The name which men gave thee\n: when they thee discovered,\n: Oh, God bless thee, Faroes my land.
Bright gleam, which in summer\n: makes hill-tops so fair;\n: rough gale, which in winter drives men to despair;\n: oh life taking storm,\n: oh conquest of soul,\n: all making sweet music\n: uniting the whole.\n: Each hoping and trusting,\n: inspiring us all,\n: To guard thee, O Faroes my land.
And therefore, I kneel down,\n: to Thee God, in prayer,\n: may peaceful my lot be,\n: and do thou me spare,\n: my soul cleansed; in glory;\n: I ask Thee to bless,\n: when I raise my banner\n: and venture the stress.\n: The sign of my task, be\n: it lifted on high,\n: To guard the, O Faroes my land.
