Windsor, Nova Scotia

The Town of Windsor is located in eastern Canada, in the province of Nova Scotia at the eastern gate to the famed Annapolis Valley. Windsor is about 66 kilometres away from Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia. The town operates under a Council/Manager system of local government consisting of current elected Mayor Anna Allen, four elected Councillors and a Chief Administrative Officer. Windsor's notoriety within the province, in Canada, and to a fast-growing extent internationally, is that it claims to be the birthplace of Hockey. There is near-irrefutable evidence that it was in Windsor, where the game the world knows as ice hockey originated as early as the year 1800.
