Yan Luo (Chinese mythology)

In Chinese Mythology, Yan Luo (閻羅 yan2luo2) is the ruler of the hell (Feng-Du). From the very beginning, the personification has been male. His name is shorten from the Chinese transliteration of the Sanskrit term Yama Raja (閻魔羅社). \nHe has a group of assistants, one being a judge who holds a brush and a book in his hands. That book contains records of all souls, including the allotted death dates for the living.\nWhen someones life ends, he/she will be brought to the face of Yan Luo to wait for the judge. It's Bullheads and Horsefaces that will bring the spirit to the judge.
